Ancora sul film di Veronica Mars La notizia che ha sconvolto davvero l'America non è stata l'ottava medaglia d'oro di Michael Phelps alle Olimpiadi di Pechino, bensì l'incontro di lavoro che ha ricongiunto Rob Thomas e Kristen Bell, rispettivamente ideatore e protagonista di Veronica Mars. Michael Ausiello rivela infatti che i due si sono incontrati la settimana scorsa per discutere del film tratto dalla serie, progetto a cui Thomas non sembra voler rinunciare. "E' molto difficile concentrarsi subito sul progetto con due episodi pilota nel mio paniere - dice Rob riferendosi ai due progetti commissionatigli dalla ABC, il remake della serie degli anni '90Cupid e l'adattamento della serie neozelandese Outrageous Fortune - ma non appena avrò un po' di tempo libero, sarà la mia priorità". L'idea di un film con cui concludere le vicende di Veronica Mars ha iniziato ad autoalimentarsi subito dopo la cancellazione prematura dello show da parte di The CW. Thomas ha confermato di essersi incontrato con Kristen negli uffici della sua società di produzione a Hollywood, non molto distanti dal set su cui l'attrice sta lavorando alle riprese della terza stagione di Heroes. Lo stesso ha avuto un incontro di lavoro anche con l'ex produttore esecutivo della serie, Joel Silver. I lavori di pre-produzione sarebbero quindi già a buon punto. Dal canto suo, la Bell ha commentato dicendo di essere contenta di vedere i fan ancora così tanto legati a Veronica Mars, curiosi di sapere in ogni istante se ci sarà davvero un seguito.
